Senseless Argument

TITLE

A foolish quarrel

ESSAY

In all my years, I had never seen individuals so stubborn and obstinate as these . They had been friends for ten years, ever since they were in primary school, and now they were willing to throw it all away over something so trivial. These were as thick as thieves, and I was their third musketeer. But when they fell out, I found myself stuck in the middle, unsure of what to do or say.

Let me introduce you to my friends, the feisty and impulsive Felix and the eloquent and sophisticated Jackander. These were inseparable, and when they were together, the world was at their feet. They were the life of the party, the center of attention, and everyone adored them. But when they quarreled, it was like watching a beautiful painting get destroyed in slow motion.

It all started when they both fell for the same girl, the beautiful and enigmatic Rosalind. They both wanted to escort her to the prom, and neither was willing to back down. It was a trivial matter, really, but their egos wouldn't allow them to let it go.

One day, we were all sitting in the school cafeteria, and Felix announced that he was going to ask Rosalind to the prom. Jackander, who had also been eyeing Rosalind for some time, was taken aback and immediately retorted that he had already asked her. Felix scoffed at him, saying that he had mentioned it first, and Jackander replied that he had thought of it earlier. And so, the argument began.

I sat there, watching in silence as they exchanged heated words, neither willing to give in. Felix eventually stormed off, and Jackander sat there, fuming. He began to tell me all sorts of terrible things about Felix, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Later, Felix came back and told me all sorts of unbelievable things about Jackander. I was stuck in the middle, torn between my friends.

Days turned into weeks, and the tension between them only grew. I tried to play peacemaker, suggesting that they let Rosalind decide, but both of them refused, saying that they couldn't bear the thought of losing her. It seemed like the situation was hopeless, and I was ready to give up.

But then, something unexpected happened. A new guy named James transferred to our school, and he caught Rosalind's eye. She agreed to go to the prom with him, leaving Felix and Jackander in the dust. They were both heartbroken, but in that moment, they realized how silly their dispute had been.

They apologized to each other, and I watched as they hugged it out, tears in their eyes. It was a beautiful moment, and I was grateful to have been a part of it.

This whole ordeal taught me a valuable lesson about friendship. It's not about who's right or wrong; it's about being there for each other, even when things get tough. And sometimes, it takes a trivial dispute to make you realize just how much your friends mean to you.
