Unexpected Meeting

As I leisurely ambled down the lively street, enveloped in the cadence of my footfalls and my own musings, a familiar visage captured my attention. My heart quickened as I recognized my old friend, someone I had not crossed paths with in years.

He stood casually at the street corner, his tall figure casually propped against a lamppost, puffing on a cigarette. A grin involuntarily spread across my face as memories of his eccentric charm flooded back. He had always been the life of the party, able to light up a room with his infectious energy and laughter.

As I approached, our eyes met. A wide smile illuminated his face as he greeted me with a jovial, "Well, well, well! Look who the cat dragged in!"

I chuckled and warmly shook his hand, noting the subtle signs of aging he bore. Time had etched a few wrinkles on his face and mingled strands of gray in his hair. Yet, his eyes still gleamed mischievously, and his smile exuded the same warmth and charisma I remembered.
